Celebrating the Gold Dinner 2021
The Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Gold Committee have cemented themselves as one of Australia’s most successful philanthropy partnerships. The Gold Dinner, for 2021 raised a mega $5.2 million, smashing its 2019 success of $3.3 million. Stephen Thatcher, Director at Bennelong Event Hire has been involved in the Gold Dinner since its inception in 1997, creating memorable experiences for guests.

550 guests dressed in Black Tie, all ventured to one of the most unusual ‘event’ venues, Sydney Airport. Arriving at the airport, guests boarded buses that took them to a purpose-built marquee by Bennelong Event Hire. The marquee was constructed at the airport in less than 72 hours, showcasing a brand new curved roof. The marquee was glowing in gold, sequins, diamonds and pearls produced by the highly acclaimed event company Team Event. The unique space provided a gorgeous view of the Sydney city skyline as guests heard planes taking off in the background.
Guests listened to Ben Lee over dinner and danced the night away to Sneaky Sound System with Bollinger in hand. A-listers included Chris Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky, Liam Hemsworth, Rose Bryne, Lucy Damon and Gabriella Brooks.
